HISTORY

The Confectionery Artists Guild of Orlando ("CAGO") is a group of artists that came togther in January of 2000 to share and promote their passion and talents in cake decorating and sugar art. The club's first official meeting was in February 2000.

CAGO meets monthly to discuss upcoming events that promote the interests of the membership and opportunities to share information and exhibit works. The group also promotes current and new techniques of sugar artistry with demonstrations by members and other artisans at its monthly meetings.

Members of CAGO participate in several community service projects throughout the year. Guild members heighten public interest in the Sugar Arts by providing demonstrations in cake decorating and sugar artistry throughout the local area. The holiday season is initiated by our annual gingerbread house event in which Guild members come together from North and Central Florida to assemble and decorate gingerbread house displays. These displays are then donated to the “Festival of Trees” fundraiser events in Orlando, Florida, and subsequently sold to support local arts programs.

Through the dedication of CAGO members, the art and passion of cake decorating are being passed on to the next generation of young ladies, sugar artists . . . and possible future members!
